Services
What is transcreation?
Your marketing projects may require a more creative approach, beyond the simple adaptation to another language. Transcreation offers more freedom and provides new suggestions for a specific target audience without sticking to the original meaning. An additional fee applies for this process.
Back translation can also be offered to receive further comments and understand the differences with the original text. In case of multiples suggestions, it helps deciding the right tone. Feel free to contact me to discuss your transcreation project.
Can you also provide Subtitles for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing?
Yes, upon request and according to your instructions. I have extensive experience in this area to ensure accessibility for the deaf and hard of hearing and make society more inclusive.
How do you provide voice-over translation?
Voice-over is an audiovisual technique where a script is recorded over the original audio track which can be still heard in the background. The text is localized, adapted and recorded through AI-generated voice to match the style of your brand. It is useful to easily translate your video content, especially e-learning, demos or tutorials. Contact me to find the best solution for your localization project.
Do you use a style guide?
Yes. During the early steps of discussing your project, I make suggestions adapted to your content and provide a style guide. If you already have an established style guide, I follow your instructions and preferences to ensure consistency.
Do you provide training?
Yes. I can provide first-level courses on translation and subtitling techniques, as well as consulting on tools and strategies to optimize your translation processes. Feel free to contact me to discuss your needs.
Are you available for work onsite?
I am based in Rennes, and I am flexible for onsite missions in compliance with my Terms and Conditions.
Do you provide interpreting services?
Translation is sometimes confused with interpretation, but these activities involve different techniques. Translation focuses on written contents, whereas interpretation deals with spoken language.
I don’t have the right qualifications or experience necessary to offer professional interpreting services. In this context, I would advise you contact a qualified interpreter.
Do you provide sworn translation?
I can’t offer this service as I am not a sworn translator. If you need certified true and correct translations for your documents, it could be useful to contact experts registered on official lists and directories.
Do you provide translation into English?
I translate and transcribe exclusively into my native language (French) in order to ensure quality. I recommend you contact a native English-speaking translator for your projects into English for optimal results and fluency.
Collaboration
How can we make sure our documents and data are protected?
As a translator and reviewer, I am responsible for the confidentiality of your documents and content to keep them undisclosed. Secrecy is at the heart of what I do, and many companies have been trusting me for a decade to take care of their sensitive files.
All servers used are hosted in Switzerland or a member country of the European Union, in compliance with the highest standards and the most stringent confidentiality regulations. IT system security is ensured by best practices and robust tools and antimalware. Please refer to my Privacy Policy for more information about how your data are handled on this Website.
I can offer onsite services and would be inclined to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement for any specific project.
How can we assess and ensure the quality of the translation?
In accordance with quality standard ISO 17100:2015, it is required to assign the translation project to a qualified translator who will be revised by a second person with similar qualifications. For optimal results and fluency, the provider’s native language should be the target language.
As a professional translator working in the industry for over 10 years, graduated from the University of Rennes, France in 2014 (Master’s degree in Translation-Localization and Multilingual Communication), exclusively accepting projects in my fields of expertise, I am the ideal partner to guarantee the quality of your content. Discover how I can help you and have a look at the wide range of services offered and my areas of expertise.
Do you use machine translation?
The use of machine translation is notified with full transparency to my clients and agreed before working on a project. I only perform post-editing upon request for organizations interested by this service and its economics. It consists in a bilingual review of a machine-generated translation with minimal stylistic changes.
By default, I translate without machine translation tools in order to provide fluent and creative content which feels natural and genuine to your target audience.
Machine translation tools should not be mistaken for computer-assisted translation (CAT) tools or translation memories (TM), which I use to ensure consistency with previous texts, leverage quality control tools, provide fast turnarounds and reduce your costs. Feel free to ask me about the different translation tools for further information, I would be happy to guide you through the best processes.
Conditions
What are the rates and turnarounds for your services?
Prices and turnarounds depend on the volume and service. The volume is defined per source word or minute (runtime). After receiving your request and files, a quote is issued and includes precise information about pricing and deadlines. As a reference, my hourly rate is EUR 25. Feel free to send me your request and I will provide a tailored and precise offer promptly, helping you to make an informed decision.
What are your payment methods?
After completing the service, an invoice is issued with banking details for a wire transfer in Euros. Please refer to my Terms and Conditions for further information.
Which file formats do you support?
All text and video formats are supported. I recommend sending editable files (such as Word, IDML, Web HTML, XML, JSON, etc.) as much as possible, when available, since working on PDF files, images and Web URLs may require extraction/transcription fees. The format for target deliverables should be discussed and agreed if different from the original format.
